HOME / PROGRAMS

Little Meadows offers several early childhood and special education opportunities to prepare students for kindergarten and beyond. All programs offer developmentally appropriate activities that build on your child’s emerging talents and strengths. Family participation is an important component of all our programs.

Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)

Little Meadows Early Childhood Center offers children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) a rigorous Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program in a classroom setting or in their home. Our ABA program is implemented by a highly skilled staff with extensive knowledge and experience in Behavior Analysis. The program is supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA).

ABA is the scientific method of therapy used to develop needed skills and behaviors through a systematic use of positive rewards and consequences with measurable goals. It is a natural science focused on the principles of learning behaviors through rewards. ABA is used to improve behaviors like social skills, communication, cognitive skills, reduction of self-injury as well as learned skills like grooming, hygiene, fine motor dexterity and personal care.

In ABA, we work on:

  • Decreasing problematic behaviors
  • Teaching communication and flexibility skills
  • Appropriate play and socialization
  • Appropriate daily living skills or self-help skills
  • Cognitive and physical skills…and so much more

Our center-based ABA program sessions (Monday-Friday) are led by a New York Certified Special Education Teacher along with trained behavioral Teacher Assistants. The program offers your child a 1:1 or small group setting with programmatic interventions implemented according to the principles of ABA and their IFSP goals.

Our home-based ABA program sessions are designed by our supervising BCBA and implemented by a qualified and experienced Early Intervention Professional. Each individualized plan incorporates parent focused goals and feedback in order to maximize the child’s developmental skills.

In addition, we offer a multi-disciplinary approach to maximize the outcome for every child as determined by their IFSP. Our team includes Special Education Teachers, School Psychologists, Social Workers, Occupational and Physical Therapists, and Speech and Language Pathologists.
